William F. Passannante Ballfield

Greenwich Village, NYC
William F. Passannante Ballfield is a fenced-in, multi-use blacktop field at the corner of West Houston Street and 6th Avenue, in Greenwich Village. Just a couple blocks away from the legendary West 4th street courts, the ballfield is a compact, chain-link enclosed space that hosts everything from soccer to basketball to pickleball to rollerblading.

I wanted to capture at William F. Passannante Ballfield because of both its location and the unique activity the court draws. This place is very local and special to me, because it is where I have probably played the most street soccer in my life, since I live just a couple minutes away in Greenwich Village. The multi-use nature of the court gives the field a constant, vibrant, energy, with many different activities always taking place at one moment, all across one ballfield.
